Form 990 is a United States IRS form that provides the public with information about a nonprofit agency. It is also used by government agencies to prevent organizations from abusing their tax-exempt status. Form 990s are filed by nonprofits each year and are publicly available documents that many donors find helpful in evaluating where they donate. They are also a primary evaluation measure used in charity rating tools like Charity Navigator and Candid.
